Having your own real estate online is pretty awesome. That’s how one very popular marketer describes his Blog…His Home. With your own blog, you can brand yourself in any niche and become the trusted resource in your field. You can grow your business, sell your products and generate as many leads as you can handle. Sounds exciting, right? It is, unless you’re not getting the necessary views on your content. Then, it’s just frustrating.
Let’s talk about getting you some exposures with your posts and articles. This process is going to be so simple, you can start generating leads with blogging on your very first post.
Occasionally I’ll create my own images for my blog however, time doesn’t always permit. So, if you’re anything like me, you’ll head over to Google Images and grab something cool. If this is the avenue you’re taking, be creative.
The other day, I created an article comparing “the close” to dating. My image was a couple walking the beach during the sunset. It was designed to get people to stop for a moment, look at the picture and create an emotion. At this point they read the copy-writing in my post. If I’ve done my job correctly, they open the article.
What we need to keep in mind is the image must stand out and not get washed away in the noise of social media.
Social Media Posting
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that you have a Social Media account somewhere and you are currently posting or planning on posting your content.
A common mistake is the actual post. Typically, the post will reveal what the article is about. Though this makes sense, it’s not enough to get people to open your article.
There must be a hook to get your reader’s attention and cause a thought/emotion to have them open your link. Think of posting your content, like an ad. Ask a question that would cause a discomfort, pain or lack in their business and have the “Answers” in your article.
I’m not going to spend much time here, however, it’s vitally important that your Capture Page/Pop-up/Give-Away, is congruent with your article. Giving value and directing to Bigger Congruent Value is a sure fire way to generate leads with blogging. This is why defining your target market is one of the most important steps when starting your blog, and creating content/lead magnets.
For this example, we’ll discuss the use of Facebook. Once you’ve posted your article, click on the “Boost” button. I recommend boosting your article to an audience that you typically don’t converse with. Think about who you are talking to in your content and search your ideal client in the keyword box. Be as specific as you can. By limiting your keywords you’ll soon learn who is more active for your type of content.As you set your keywords up, create an “Audience” which is stored for future use. It makes it simple the next time you are boosting your articles by a simple click of a button. As an added bonus you’ll also receive an influx of “Likes”. Those that like your writing will also “Like” your Fan/Business Page.
