Short-cuts for your content creation that save a great deal of time and effort!
When you are marketing online, content creation is necessary. It is necessary, no matter what online strategy you concentrate on using. For example:
– when you are blogging, obviously you need to create blog posts (on a regular basis!)
– video marketing – requires fresh new videos!
– Social media marketing – requires very regular posts which can include the posting of blog posts and videos…
– article marketing – requires the writing of articles
– paid advertising – requires one of the above, depending on the form of paid marketing you have chosen to pursue
BUT don't worry – all of the above have MANY crossovers! In fact, if you are only doing one of the above at present, you are leaving money on the table – and the good news is that adding another strategy need not take up much more of your time and energy. Here are several short-cuts:
Always look for crossovers with your content (there are so many!)
It is possible not only to create just one piece of content and use that same piece of content for all of the above strategies (with a few tweaks), you can also post each in several different places.
So, for example, I am currently writing a blog post. First of all I will publish this blog post on my blog. I will then send it to 2 other places which post my blog posts – MLSP and Better Networker – thus ensuring more people read the post.
Next, I will create a video based around this same information (I often do this first). The video can have a call to action at the end, and be uploaded to several places – including this particular blog post! Other places include YouTube, Vimeo, Better Networker, my Facebook page and others. Sometimes I will post a video directly onto my Facebook page, other times it will be my blog post, with or without the video which I post.
I then have the option of using paid advertising to ‘boost' my post. I recommend you actually create an ad to do this, rather than clicking the ‘boost the post' option underneath the post – it is more effective. Or I can use paid advertising on YouTube.
I also have the option of sending any of the above to my ever-growing E-mail list…
As you can see the possibilities are many – there are more! All based on just one piece of content. Do the work once and get as much out of it as you possibly can!
How do you find content to create in the first place?
This is a very good question – and one I get asked often. Basically, whenever you learn something new share it with others. On whatever platform you choose. As you can see, it is not much more effort to actually share that learning across many different platforms and on many different sites. Thus ensuring your content more exposure…
Some excellent places to learn include: other Facebook pages, other blogs, other YouTube channels and webinars. There are many leaders out there who share their knowledge on a daily basis. Of course, I'm not talking about copying someone else's content. Think of something you would like to learn more about, then look at a variety of places to find out more about that topic. You will find you are then able to create your content! I does not need to take much time. Use the search option on a couple of sites and read through or watch a few different posts/videos to learn about the topic.
Another excellent place to pick up your tips and learn about different topics is the place where I have learned literally everything I now know about marketing. That is My Lead System Pro. With ‘wake up calls' every weekday morning and live webinars almost every night during the week, you cannot help but pick up enough value to create your own content. Simply watch one of the webinars or, if you are short of time, listen to one of the 15 min wake-up-calls, then create the content based on what you have learned.
Awesome job, Robin. I’ve read a few of your posts, and I’ve always found great value in them. Thanks for sharing!
