My journey as an online affiliate marketer has spanned 21 years, and the first 10 were an abject failure. For the first 10 years, I was a consumer, I consumed – and it consumed me, yet I never ever thought of quitting.
Oh sure, I had one of those cushy “corporate” jobs – as a Captain for a major US Airline — and I h-a-t-e-d it. I literally despised the concept of a job yet hung in there until I actually couldn’t take it any longer – and I found myself up against a choice, quit or get fired.
You see; I don’t follow the rules (just ask my Dad about my teenage years); he still jokes saying “I worried about this kid every day, wondering if he would finally come around” — and of course I did. Dad and I are best friends today and often wonder why he didn’t take a baseball bat to my head a few times, but he didn’t; lucking I literally have the most caring Dad on the face of the earth.
No one told me I had every trait of a true entrepreneur – rebellious, never taking no for an answer, making their own rules, getting fired instead of quitting – I could go on but you get the point.
You may also notice (if you follow me on social media) that I come off as brash, harsh and even rude — yet most interpret the “truth” as a painful stab at their reality. Here’s the rub, I am radically honest – in fact I practice radical honesty as it is defined. – a quality that has earned me admirers as well as detractors.
Radical Honesty is a kind of communication that is direct, complete, open and expressive. Radical Honesty means you tell the people in your life what you've done or plan to do, what you think, and what you feel. It's the kind of authentic sharing that creates the possibility of love and intimacy.
My breakthrough came when I decided to setup a business phone line and start publishing my phone number online – the first few times it rang I just stared at it, scared out of my mind; then after about a week of voicemails I answered one day – shaking, stuttering, and I made a sale; a $15 commission on an affiliate offer.
Yes, I made affiliate sales by talking to leads/prospects on the phone.
The phone became my path to riches (yes, the secret is out of the bag) I actually talked to people and they bought what I was recommending.
The conversation leads to the conversion (who woulda thunk it right?).
I started having $100 days, then $300 days and then – I did $58,000 in one week and guess what I said to myself THAT week? I said “I knew it would happen” — I had been planning it all along (not arrogance, but belief in myself and unwavering confidence).
First person I called after making $58K in one week, my Dad – and we shared a moment I will never forget. Since then I’ve moved forward knowing that nothing can stop me; and that this business IS me, and that people buy me (and you) – they don’t click links and buy, they connect with people and buy because of the connection & relationship. Period.
If you want to convert at 1%, share your affiliate link around the internet, if you want to convert at 70%, share your phone number.
You build a team (even as an affiliate) and you support them as best you can (you’ll get better as you go) and you make that your mission; you’ll be free and rich beyond your wildest imagination.
Not gonna lie, I kick myself in the (you know what) quite often for not getting into MLSP sooner — the residual income alone is a game changer and the training and community is so valuable that you can’t help but succeed.
My goal, is to have an MLSP team of 1,000 successful entrepreneurs, all succeeding with my leadership and training – I’m doing it right now, it’s like a 1,000 car freight train rumbling down the tracks; as the head light gets brighter and brighter — that’s my vision each night before I go to sleep.
There’s nothing I wouldn’t do to help this community; and I’m only a phone call away – truly honored to be member of the month.
