What is something that sets you apart?
Ryan Cody Mcmorris opened his Morning Wake-Up Call defining what he calls, “the X Factor,” as just that: The singular thing that makes you or your product stand out in a crowd. With so much noise and chatter in the marketplace today, becoming an X Factor is Mcmorris’s claim to success.
Despite the mental roadblocks and stigmas around sales, he realized that people are buying something that they deem valuable every second of the day. When you can make the shift in attitude away from negativity towards sales and and learn to be the X Factor, you open up the doors to provide a product to people that adds value to their lives, a product they walk away feeling like they gained something.
Mcmorris laid out the groundwork towards becoming the X Factor in your business with five simple steps:
- Never be forgotten.
- Master the 2-minute storytelling technique.
- Less automation, more connection.
- Go the extra mile and know the market better than they know themselves.
- You have to be unique.

Brian followed up with commentary on Facebook Live.
The most important takeaway he wanted to share was if you’ve got a service that you know will help people, if you truly know at your core that your product will help people, sales issue should never be a thing again. Because if something impacted your life so greatly, it’s selfish to not go out and get it into other people’s hands. Money is simply a direct reflection of the value you put in the workplace.
